Why reduce energy? Why go green?

The ‘whys’ are covered under two headings namely ‘Climate change’ and ‘commercial advantage’

Climate Change: This is now widely understood an accepted.

Commercial Advantage: Many national building owners, operators and tenants have committed to occupying low energy, low environmental impact buildings. These companies have minimum standards (star ratings) to be achieved (they also report to the shareholders!). Some of these companies include:

• Australian Government.
• Property Portfolio holders (Investa, GPT, AMP etc)
• Large Institutions including Banks

That lease will go somewhere else...

• If your building is not rated,
• Your building has high energy consumption
• Your building does not achieve an acceptable indoor environment
• Your building consumes high quantities of water
• Your building discards its waste to landfill
